Getting Leads Isn't Enough

If you're a business owner and have a LinkedIn profile, then I am sure you also receive tons of messages like this:
?
Aside from not knowing who my target audience is, a big problem with this message is the focus on "getting leads". But, if you're not familiar with the term "leads", leads are basically prospective buyers that can become customers.
?
And any business that wants to stay in business definitely needs to learn how to acquire leads and transform them into paying customers.
?
This is business 101, yet if you take this analogy to the next level, you can imagine your business as a vehicle and the leads as the engine within that vehicle. Although the engine is part of the vehicle, it is only ONE of the many components that help the vehicle to move and become functional.
?
And just like engines alone don't make your vehicle move, leads alone should not be the sole focus of growing your business.
?
To go a little deeper, the vehicle or business isn't the only thing you should be working on. As the driver of your vehicle and the CEO of your company, you're actually the most important part of this equation.
?
That's because it doesn't matter how well-built the vehicle is, if you don't know how to drive it, you may crash.
?
In business terms, it doesn't matter how well your company is built, if you don't know how to manage it, you may lose it.
?
Being a business owner requires that you both work on your business and also in your business (at the same time).
?
And when it comes to personal growth, you'll also have to work on yourself, and within yourself as well.
This holistic approach to growing both professionally and personally, better positions you to get your business and yourself to perform at an optimal level.

So, just remember that only going after leads is just one part of building a profitable and sustainable business.
You'll also need to work on bettering yourself and your systems so that when you do get more leads, you'll be able to deliver on the value you promised.
And if you want to learn how to do this, I suggest that you check out my upcoming workshop, which is sponsored by Creative Mornings .
