Getting to know our Advisory Panel FFCC Dubai 2022.
(FFCC) Fast Food & Cafe Convention
A platform for the QSR, Cafe, Fast Casual, Cloud/Dark Kitchen and the F&B industry to LEARN, NETWORK, COLLABORATE.
The Fast Food & Café convention ? is gearing up for its 2nd Edition in Dubai on the 2nd of November at the Conrad and we took this opportunity to have a quick chat with our expert advisory committee to get to know them better!
We asked Mr. Naim Maadad , CEO of Gates Hospitality a varied set of questions and here’s what he had to say:
Q: What are the three most important lessons you have learned from your tenure in the Hospitality industry that you will always carry with you?
A: My learnings are vast and varied but the three most relevant are,?
Q: What about the F&B industry still surprises you after 25 years in the business??
A: The ability to bounce back notoriously well, irrespective of global challenges.
Q: Where do you see the F&B industry gearing up toward??
A: Vibrant and will always be an industry that powers ahead.
Q: What’s on the menu for the future of Gates Hospitality?
A: The menu always evolves around geographical developments and we will continue on growing across our business silos; Resorts/Hotels, Food & Beverage, and Wellness.
Q: Could you talk to us about tech advancements you would like to see in the industry? A tech wish list if you will.?
A: Tech is a fundamental and integral part of the age we live in and we need to embrace it. Identifying where it can add systematic support for the business to free up the human capital to focus on service and engagement.?
Q: What are your thoughts on sustainable practices in the industry? How and what should we keep our eyes on?
A: Educational journeys should be well defined and practiced for guests and team members alike. I am hoping to see some stringent government directives to fast track the change needed.

Q: If you could change one thing about the F&B industry, what would it be?
A: I would really support authenticity to a deep and meaningful level.
Q: “Inclusion” is a priority now, how do you think the F&B industry can bridge the gap, both culturally and geographically?
A: We have some major work to do here starting with making the industry accepted as a career and not merely as means to pay bills. Also having parents endorse the sector as a career.
Q: Could you give us three books you think everyone should read? What are you currently reading?
Q: What is the most valuable advice you would give your younger self?
A: Do it all again- ENCORE!
