Getting to know Katia Zoppetti, president of IT-RO, the Italian Rotational Moulding trade association, and proud employee of DRAM

How did you end up working in the rotational moulding sector?

Like Alison, just by chance after getting an internship at Acerbis. The internship turned into a permanent contract, and I worked there as head of R&D for 13 years. I then met Alison, and she offered me a part time home based job in 2011, and I have been with DRAM ever since.

What do you like about rotational moulding?

I like the fact that it is an “unpredictable“ technology. Each moulding is different from the previous one, it’s never repetitive. I also like the fact that it is very versatile; it can be used to produce highly performant technical parts as well as parts that are simply beautiful.

You have been president of IT-RO, the Italian association of rotational moulders, since 2013. What do you like about it??

I am a strong supporter of trade associations, I do believe that together we can achieve better things. As IT-RO president I have the chance of meeting lots of people from all over the world, and learning from?them. I also love to be able to offer a service to our members and to do something to support the industry that supports us buying our products.

Which product do you think will help improving the rotational moulding process?

Last week Alison spoke about venting systems, so I’d like to mention Graphics, because they allow making a product unique and identifiable, thus being useful not only from an aesthetic and marketing perspective, but also increasing safety when used to give warning and instructions.
