Getting Inked...

I am planning on to get a tattoo done but am sceptical thinking about the pain that accompanies this activity. While crafting something permanent seems truly exciting, I have always wondered why people get inked. Is it just for the creativity and considering your body as a canvas or is it more than this. I personally feel that those who can endure that pain are an epitome of strength. These are the individuals who relate to permanency and understand what it means to be committed. I know that if I make friends with a tattooed person, they are going to stay with me for life for they have devoted themselves to that kind of a relation on their bodies. I know this person will not judge me; he will accept me for who I am and respect the ‘me’ he sees within me. Each tattoo is a story, is a reflection of the person bearing it.

We beings are Nature’s finest creation. Being inked means I connect with my body spiritually. I leave behind on my body, a story that is mine, a symbol that personifies me, a bit of my life on my body; this is vitalizing. Initially I perceived a tattooed body as nothing more than a mess but this perception has changed with time, with maturity. Now I feel highly of them and hell, I wish to be one someday. It is a test of my persistence, loyalty, creativity, virtue, it is my timeless existence.

In my mind I feel free, I feel infinite, I am eternal. In my mind, time does not bind me, bonds do not intimidate me, and death does not defy me. What better than symbolizing it on my body, it is a powerful gesture and a lasting promise to myself.
