Getting high-paying clients organically on LinkedIn is easy when you have a clear roadmap

Since 2016, I had the privilege to teach over 1,400 customers my Organic LinkedIn Formula - an organic LinkedIn Framework that helped my clients earn literally millions of dollars organically on LinkedIn - with ease and confidence.

I remember it like it was yesterday.

It was 2014., and I just enrolled in an online program that was supposed to help us build a simple software and create recurring passive income - and I started using LinkedIn to connect with nutrition health providers around the world to do my market research.

Little did I know then that it was going to be the start of what will two years later become an online LinkedIn business that would up to 2022. help a lot of business owners earn a lot of money using simple, yet classy organic strategies on LinkedIn.

The first thing you have to know about me is that I come from Croatia, and back in 2014., even 2016. nobody knew where Croatia was on the planetary map.

It was extremely hard to build connections and trust in the online business world, as most people believed I come from a third-world country where we don't have running water. Connected to that - most believed I was a scammer that just wants to take people's money and has no solid strategies around LinkedIn to offer to the world.

It was though, but from 2014 to 2016 I started using LinkedIn extensively for my startup, experimenting with different organic strategies and approaches to getting us leads and clients - which resulted in about $50k of ARR for the company.

I have built a LinkedIn group, created a lot of relevant content, and started to understand LinkedIn in more depth. I realized, even then, that it was more than just a resume site. It was a place where business owners were looking for experts to solve their business problems.

And they were willing and able to pay for those solutions.

In 2016., I decided to step away as the CEO of my startup, which was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. I can't even tell you how hard it is to have to walk away from something you put your sweat, tears, time, and effort into for two years straight.

And there I was - feeling like a failure with no real idea what to do. I was broken, defeated and I couldn't pay my bills.

I remember sitting with my sister thinking of what I'm going to do, and I realized that even though my startup failed because we were so early in the market - I have done some awesome things in it in regards to LinkedIn, lead generation, and sales.

I've built my own LinkedIn strategies, even back then, because of most of the sales and lead generation strategies in 2014.-2016. were heavily focused on automation tools.

I've tried them and realized they weren't for me. They felt clunky, impersonal, and spammy and with the "third-world" country label I had, I knew I had to find a better way.

So, what was I supposed to do?

I had no money, no company, and no plan.

I decided I was just going to risk it (stubborn Balkan that I am) - and in a week after walking away from my startup I opened a company and recorded my first LinkedIn online course.

I basically explained in detail what I did on LinkedIn to get my startup to $50k ARR using organic LinkedIn strategies, and within two weeks I sold my first $3k worth of courses.

That course was called the "Link Lead Gen Formula" :)

I knew I was onto something. I knew if I just keep refining my strategy and using my creative brain I could help a lot of people get clients over LinkedIn.

Fast forward a year later and in the summer of 2017 I opened my FB group (yes, LinkedIn has at that point killed one of its leading features - LinkedIn groups").

And the rest is history - the framework that I now call the "LinkedIn Organic Formula" has served over 1,400 customers in numerous niches, making my clients literally millions of dollars.

And I am not saying this to brag - it was a long and dirty road to getting there. Coming from Croatia, I had to make sure my LinkedIn strategies work and that there is NO spamminess in the site.

Just good old organic strategies that work.

So, let's dig a bit into that Framework, shall we?

LinkedIn Organic Formula in six "common sense" steps

Listen, guys, getting really ideal clients on LinkedIn is easy, but you need to know what you are doing.

You really need to understand your business and most importantly - your offer and your target market. If you don't have an offer that people already paid for, first go and try to sell your offer until you do.

LinkedIn is not the place for testing offers or understanding your business model - you need to have that all dialed in if you want to see success on this platform.

Some of my best clients were business owners and entrepreneurs that had their business models and offers figured out - and they were looking to transition to LinkedIn because of the more mature audience here.

More mature audience means readiness to pay more but also higher marketing maturity - that's why spammy, clumsy marketing does not work on LinkedIn.

Another thing to remember - I understand that there is a lot of noise on the Internet about what you should do on LinkedIn and I get that it's frustrating to understand who is right and who's not.

The market today has a lot of contradictory information, but I would advise that you use common sense - that's how I built "LinkedIn Organic Formula".

  1. You know your business and your market. If you don't - it's your job to find out
  2. Use common sense when marketing here on LinkedIn for example - if your audience usually doesn't respond to video, don't do video here on LinkedIn. Simple.
  3. Always remember that your audience here on LinkedIn BEHAVES a certain way and uses the platform in a certain way - you are not going to change that. You need to adapt to what they're already doing and focus on the features they already use.

Hopefully, that makes sense.

Now. When I started creating the "LinkedIn Organic Formula" I understood one very important thing:

Every business is different, every target market different and every offer is different. That's why you need a LinkedIn lead generation funnel that works specifically for your business. There is no one-shoe-fits-all.

That's why created an organic lead generation framework that would allow my clients to focus on things that they actually DO need to focus on here on LinkedIn.

I am going to give you an example - some businesses should NOT be doing content on the Home Feed, or maybe not at all.

How come, you might ask?

If you have a busy CEO that is your target market here on LinkedIn, you have to understand what that CEO is spending time on when he/she logs into LinkedIn - ad. I can tell you that 90% of high-level CEOs do not spend their valuable time scrolling the LinkedIn home Feed.

They might, however, spend 5 minutes reading a long-form article like this.

So, if that's the case - why would you spend time creating content on the LinkedIn Home Feed - just because some gooroo told you you need to post 10 times a day?

Know your market, know your business, and use common sense, guys.

Okay.

Now, let's jump into the six steps you need to do to build an organic LinkedIn funnel that will work specifically for your business:

  1. Identify your target market on LinkedIn

This is by far the first step you need to do - and if you don't do this correctly, everything else will flop. Pick just one specific niche your offer soles a specific problem. Don't go for multiple niches because remember that this platform was built for businesses looking for experts to solve specific problems.

Also, besides just industry and a title, if you want to build really profitable organic funnel here on LinkedIn, go deeper - psychographic and market behavior on LinkedIn is the most important thing.

If you target CEOs - make sure you understand how they're using the app, where they spend time on LinkedIn, and what's their stage of awareness...these are the things you need to nail down before going to step two.

2. Position your product/service for LinkedIn

I've seen a lot of businesses take the positioning they have on FB or other social media and use that on LinkedIn, which is actually not the right way to go.

Keep in mind that LinkedIn is a business network and that you need to position your product or service on LinkedIn towards your target market and what they need. They are the only thing you have to position for - everything else is irrelevant

3. Research your Target market and verify

One thing I've seen people are so reluctant to do is to pick up the phone and talk to people for research purposes. Most use surveys and such but this is the thing - if you want your LinkedIn profile to REALLY resonate with your audience here on LinkedIn you need to really pick up your target market's lingo.

Your profile on LinkedIn needs to be positioned like you are "in their head" - and the only way to accomplish that is to pick up the phone or go on Zoom and really talk to your audience on LinkedIn. you have to understand their lingo and the problems they perceive they're facing - otherwise, your LinkedIn profile will be just one of the millions of profiles on this platform.

4. Optimize and turn your LinkedIn profile into a segmentation tool

Yes, you heard that right - your LinkedIn profile needs to repel people that are not your ideal clients and strongly attract people that are.

If you do steps 1-3 correctly, this will not be a problem and your LinkedIn profile will really stand out - and people will want to work with you. It can actually be that simple.

Also, focus on storytelling vs copy in your LinkedIn profile. Be connectable and relatable. Share their story on your LinkedIn profile - it's going to be the most powerful marketing tool on this platform.

5. Creating content

This is where all previous steps will come to fruition. If you understand your target market and you've done your research you should know what type of content your market wants to read. Long-form (articles), short-gorm (Home-Feed), videos, text, GIFs.

You need to write the right type of content for the right people in the right place here on LinkedIn. You don't need to and you shouldn't do everything. You are going to waste a lot of time.

I have some cool strategies both for the LinkedIn Home-Feed and for audiences that love longer-form, informative posts, and my team will be sharing that in the upcoming workshop.

6. DM communication

As I've written in my previous articles - DMs on LinkedIn are a true opportunity that most just screw up using automation tools or templates.

Communicating in DMs is what 99% of you could and should do well, but you don't know how - and just keep in mind that as long as you are misusing this feature on LinkedIn - you will not use the full potential of your funnel.

My team member Ruby is going to give you some awesome tips how to talk to people authentically in DMs in the upcoming workshop.

Don't forget that your business is one of a kind and you might not need to do content at all. Also, you might not need to talk to people in the Messenger. Make sure you understand your LinkedIn target market inside out so you can understand what to focus your time and attention here on LinkedIn. That's what will make your LinkedIn funnel - one of a kind.
