Getting there!

Around six months ago my partner and I decided to move to London to start fresh: we left our small businesses (an English school and a Co-Working space) being run by our dear employees with a little support from us, I got my visa as a EU family member, we purchased the tickets, we packed and here we are in this great country; in this lovely city.

During this time we went through a lot. We had a great help from my brother and his lovely wife when we had just arrived to UK; we had a hard time finding us a place to live but after almost two months living in Airbnb places we found this amazing place with a fair price and; we found ourselves jobs while the perfect opportunities in our professions come up and; we both got our Residence Cards to live and work in UK \o/.

I’ve been a chartered accountant for the past 16 years with a lot of experience in international companies and a lot of projects accomplished. Nevertheless, I’ve decided to study on my own from scratch to become a CIMA to 1) learn more and 2) improve my chances to get a job in the Finance and Accounting area in London.

Well, all that effort has been worthwhile: I passed my last CIMA test last week and I’m proud to share with my LinkedIn folks that I’ve just become a CIMA Cert-BA. Of course, there’s much more to achieve but that for me is a great milestone because with this one more accomplishment in my life I know that with dedication and faith we can get anywhere. And I do want to make the best of my London life. And I know I’ll be even happier here working for an organization that I can use my skills and experiences and help it to achieve its goals.
