Hello friend,
Every night for the past two years, I’ve listened to my neighbor’s kid practice piano.
They started off quite rocky, to be honest. Like, it wasn’t terrible, but you could tell it was a kid practicing piano.?
And on weeks like these, when it’s so nice to have the windows open, I can clearly hear the stumbles and bumps along the way.?
I can’t be the only neighbor cheering on this little person as they learn a new skill.?
Well, the other day, I heard Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper playing.?
Yall, it was so good I thought the music was coming from my husband’s video game. ??
It seriously sounded like this intense, instrumental ballad that would accompany some sort of adventure scene. It wasn’t until I heard it stop (I guess they must have only been practicing one part of the song) that I realized it wasn’t in the game.
And it got me thinking about how long I’ve been hearing this kiddo practice. Two years. And they’re so good now.?
Each day probably felt like a drag. Each week, they probably were wondering if they were improving. Each passing month sticking with their practice and getting better.?
The takeaway for me (because I really write these emails as a lesson for ME too), is that getting better at something will probably take much longer than we think.?

So get comfy with practicing and stick with sharpening your skills.?
Whether it’s writing captions, designing graphics, recording videos, or any other marketing task, it’s going to take time to improve.?
Give yourself the gift of that commitment to improve.

NEW PODCAST EPISODE
In today's episode of my three-part series on Outsourcing Your Social Media, I am discussing why it’s important to get your house in order before you invite someone new to be the caretaker of your social media property.
Handing over your social media management is not an expense, it’s an investment. And to get the most out of your future investment in the growth of your business, you need to have certain pillars in place that will give your new team or teammate everything they need to do their part in helping your business reach its goals.
Without a plan in place before you add to your team, not only are you creating more work for yourself (and I mean, isn’t that why you are considering bringing in some H-E-L-P anyways?), but you may also be slowing down your growth on social media without even knowing it.
