EPIC Tip

Years ago, Tamara Box, former Managing Partner of Reed Smith, said something that always stuck with me: “Generosity pays.” She has spent her career helping other people, it’s never been about her. In the EPIC Generosity episode of the Finding Your Epic podcast, she told me “I’ve long thought, from very early days in my career, that the world is a very karmic place. What you put out, you often get back". However, Tamara also pointed out, it’s important not to go too far “It can be a very slippery slope. I’ve watched women go down that road of self-deprecation to the point of doing them out of a job, or a promotion, or any credit at all. I try really hard to take the view that I can be generous, but not to the point of zero".

Last year, Mexico put women first with the Supreme Court unanimously ruling that state laws prohibiting abortion are unconstitutional and violate women’s rights. This is just the latest in a series of victories in safeguarding reproductive rights across Latin America.
