Getting Back Up When Mother Nature Knocks You Down

What do you do when Mother Nature knocks you down? You get back up — and rebuild a better future for yourself, your business and your family.

And that’s exactly what Ray Signorello, proprietor of Signorello Estate, a winery in Napa Valley, did after the Atlas Peak Fire, just one of the many wildfires that tore through Northern California in October 2017, nearly decimated his winery’s operations.

During a recent discussion I had with him for The Crisis Averted Podcast, Signorello revealed the immediate steps he had to take to overcome adversity in the short term to rebuild a better future for his business.

"You always looked at your old winery and said, 'You know, I wish it was a little different here, but it's a nice place,' so you're not going to tear it down," he said. "Well, Mother Nature tore it down for us. And I guess I get my chance to rebuild it the way I want, so I guess that's the silver lining in this whole thing,"

Here's the link to our conversation.
