It has been a while since the question “where should I travel to next?” has felt within reach. The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic last year has devastated the travel industry. As regional travel in New South Wales resumes, caravans are packed, dining are tables set and family reunions are just hours away.
Did you know that Crown estate makes up 42% of the landmass in New South Wales? Covering 34 million hectares, that is more land than you could ever dream of exploring. Here are my favourite spots located on Crown land.
?1.????????Bogey Hole (Hunter) – Constructed in 1819-1820, this heritage-listed sea bath located in Newcastle, below King Edward Park is a great place to cool off in summer and steep yourself in local history.
2.????????Norah Head Lighthouse (Central Coast) - Perched on the headland, the lighthouse takes in magnificent ocean view and is the Central Coast's most spectacular icon.
3.????????Packsaddle Roadhouse (Far West) – Located north of Broken Hill, the world-renowned Packsaddle Roadhouse is a must-do stopover on your exploration of outback NSW.
4.????????Living Desert State Park (Far West) – This stunning oasis is nestled in the heart of the Barrier Ranges, just nine kilometres outside of Broken Hill. The reserve spans 2,400 hectares of breathtaking views and fascinating topography, and is a spectacular combination of natural and sculptured land, filled with extraordinary history and wildlife.
5.????????Shoalhaven Heads Golf Club (South Coast) – This golf club located on Crown land is a beautifully designed 18-hole course and a few minutes from historic Berry. It is named as one of the finest golf courses on the south coast.
6.????????Spit Bridge to Manly Walk (Sydney) - Beginning at Mosman’s Spit Bridge, this classic 10km-one-way Sydney coastal walk shows you some of the most picturesque parts of Middle and North Harbours. The walk connects you to diverse and picturesque parcels of Crown land.

7.????????Lake Albert (Riverina) - Lake Albert caters for boating, fishing, swimming and other aquatic activities and it is one of Wagga's most popular spots.
8.????????Reflections Urunga Holiday Park (Mid-North Coast) – This picturesque and pristine holiday haven is perfectly position where the river meets the sea. The holiday park is a firm favourite with campers, caravaners and cabin-dwellers who love the park’s facilities and activities and the natural beauty of this friendly coastal community.
9.????????Lake Keepit State Park (North East) - A lot of locals come here on weekends as it is such a popular spot to visit. Nestled along the shores of Keepit Dam and an easy drive from Gunnedah and Tamworth, the lake is the epitome of the natural beauty of the New England region.
10.?????Seal Rocks (Mid Coast) – This seaside village is famous for the beautiful lighthouse, unspoilt surfing beaches, snorkelling and diving, relaxing picnic areas and nearby Myall Lakes National Park.
