October Reflections - The Magic of Alignment

During October, the shift in seasons often mirrors the changes we experience in our own lives. The crispness in the air, the shorter days, and the vibrant colours of autumn all remind us that change, although inevitable, can also be beautiful.?

Recently, many across the UK were lucky enough to witness the awe-inspiring display of the Northern Lights - this is a pic from my back garden!

It’s rare for these natural phenomena to be visible so far south, but when they do appear, they create a sense of wonder and connection to something much larger than ourselves.

In many ways, the Northern Lights are a metaphor for life and career transitions. Like the lights themselves, our ideal life balance can sometimes feel unpredictable or even out of reach. Yet, when everything aligns - our values, our passions, and our sense of purpose - things begin to light up in unexpected ways, often when we least expect them.

I invite you to reflect on your own alignment. Are you in a career that allows you to be your best self? Are you living in a way that respects both your professional goals and your personal wellbeing??

Just as the Northern Lights remind us of the beauty in the unknown and the rare, embracing change and taking steps towards alignment in our work can lead to something truly extraordinary!

Something Practical for you - Aligning your values

To help you explore how aligned you are in your work or life try this short exercise to gain clarity and set intentions for the coming months:

1. Reflect on Your "Why": Take 10 minutes to journal about what truly motivates and inspires you in any area of your life. Ask yourself: "Why do I do what I do?" Write down the reasons that drive you. Understanding your deeper "why" will give you clarity on what truly matters.

2. Assess Your Boundaries: Consider your current work-life balance. Do you feel stretched too thin, or have you found a healthy rhythm? Write down any areas where your boundaries might need adjustment. Setting these boundaries will help protect your wellbeing while allowing you to thrive.

3. Visualise Your Ideal Day: Close your eyes and imagine what a perfect day or workday would look like for you. Where are you? What tasks are you doing? Who are you interacting with? What kind of energy do you feel throughout the day? Write down the key elements of this vision. This exercise can give you insights into what changes you might need to make in your life balance role or what to seek in a new one.

By reflecting on your core values and visualising a future that aligns with them, you’re setting yourself up for a path that not only brings you success but also fulfilment and balance. Just like the Northern Lights, when everything aligns, the results can be magical!
