Question:?Now that Summer is here, how can I get (and stay ahead) of others, while still enjoying myself before returning to school?

The Summer has finally arrived! School’s out, the temperature is high, and fun times are ahead. At the same time, Summer presents a great opportunity to network, prep for interviews, and refine your resume (in a less-stressful environment!). Take advantage of the career services that many schools offer over the Summer.?The Final Round also offers a TON of resources?to help you throughout the process, from?blog posts?to both?long and short-form video content, and even a Free?LinkedIn Learning course!
Creating a schedule for yourself?is helpful to stay on track and minimize stress. Even when you’re not in class, find a few hours a week to focus on your career development. We’ve found that?blocking off 3-4 hours?at the same time each week can help create a sense of commitment and will go a long way!
It’s also important to note that the Summer is a great time to?take a break?from the stress, enjoy time with friends, and clear your head. Stay on track, and be aware of your deadlines, all while still making time to recharge your batteries — your body and mind need it.

Google’s 150-foot Rule
Google is known for having some of the coolest, most creative offices across the world; and to go with it, some of the best perks and rewards programs. Employees at Google offices are not only allowed but?encouraged?to design their workspaces as they would like. Google has a “150-foot rule,” meaning no matter where you work in the offices, you will never be less than 150 ft. from a (free) meal, snack, or beverage.

Consulting firms are considered to have some of the most demanding work hours; however, that doesn’t mean these firms don’t care about their employees’ lives outside of work.
