Getting Ahead
In this very competitive world, everyone is looking to get ahead. One might think getting ahead would come at the expense and failure of others, but for myself, my clients and most people, I promote getting ahead in another sense, by making use of the untapped strengths and opportunities within and around you. These resources, if used properly, can propel you to get where you want to be.
From working with various clients through all walks of life, I’ve learned that although each individual’s situation and ‘ahead’ may vary, there are a few tips that everyone can implement into their specific situation. As a business woman and a coach I keeping finding this one common theme, of getting ahead and reaching higher. I’ve taken this message personally, not only for my professional business, but I’ve also made it my mission and mantra to help my clients get ahead.
Aim for Double
The Chabad Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, spoke regularly about the concept of aiming for double; just as it’s natural that someone who has a hundred, will want two hundred. The Rebbe once met with a rabbi who was proudly updating the Rebbe on his school’s success and his undertaking to add 200+ students. Following this news, the Rebbe did not react with as much satisfaction as the rabbi was hoping for. When asked, the Rebbe responded, “How many Jewish students are in Melbourne? Do you expect me to be happy with only 200 in your school?”
From this story we can learn never to be satisfied. We should expect more from ourselves, aim higher, double our efforts, and always strive for the next day to be bigger and better. And to do this, we have to take the leap, jump forward and just get started.
Field Experts
On Tuesday, February 8, 2016, Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs will host a powerful business event for women. I’m looking forward to moderating a panel of three very successful business owners, Mrs. Julie Gniwisch, Mrs. Devorah Halberstam and Mrs. Devoree Axelrod, as they will present meaningful strategies to get ahead and make your mark in your business or workplace.
It is known that when faced with a big decision, one should reach out and ask someone who understand and are experts in that particular field. This strong panel that CHYE is presenting are field experts in who have an incredible amount of value, experience, knowledge and proven success in business development.
As a coach and community member, I understand the importance to lead with this ‘field expert’ mentality, to see further than just the business and market, but to also see you as an individual for your full and whole potential. Any woman who is making a decision to move forward with a business venture, or another significant progressive step is sure to hear valuable insights that can scale through different parts of our lives, and I urge you to join.
