Gettin'? High with QCI

Gettin' High with QCI

Did I get your attention? 2019 has been an exciting year for the Des Moines IT market. And for QCI, the tried and tested method for success continues to prevail. When you treat people, like people, everyone wins. This is a relationship business, not a staffing business. Treat it like one! Below are a couple 'highs' I have experienced in my roles as an 'Annoying IT Recruiter' within the past month that are worth sharing:

  • I recently received a referral for an individual who was traveling over 250 miles each day in order to provide for his family. In some areas of the world, that could be considered normal. In Iowa, that's unheard of! As of Monday, QCI was able to provide him with a long-term opportunity in Des Moines. So instead of traveling 250 miles each day, we cut that down to 25. That equates to an additional 4 hours a day, 20 hours a week, 80 hours a month and 960 hours a year this individual can spend with his family. (Impressed by my math?)
  • One of our clients reached out to us looking for some assistance with a project and needed help ASAP. While searching for the ideal candidate, I came across an individual who in my eyes, matched what we were looking for. I called this person and asked when he could meet for a face to face conversation. His answer ... 15 minutes. In learning more about him, he shared a list of 10+ 'staffing firms' that reached out to him, asked for his resume and failed to follow-up. No one had given him the time of day because of what they saw on a piece of paper. Long-story short, QCI became is first employer for a development position and his future is as bright as the colors in our logo. Everyone has a story, are you willing to take the time to hear it?

Knowing that I'm human, I certainly have my flaws. Not all days will be great, and not all months will be filled with the positive mojo like the instances above. But when your viewpoint is focused on people and relationships rather than people and numbers, my guess and hope is that you'll be inspired to share your inspiring 'highs', too.

Congrats to a legend in the business?

I've found that ghosting is what really needs to be addressed in the recruiting business as it is shamelessly rampant.
