In autumn 2017, inspired by the need for a solution to connect high-value talent with our network, we embarked on a mission to reinvent the way introductions are made. We founded Sompani with the initial vision to empower the Berlin community through sharing and mutual trust. As our journey unfolded, Sompani pivoted several times, finally emerging as the European market leader for branded VC support platforms that facilitate introductions among network peers.

Today we are thrilled to announce that Sompani has been acquired by Getro, the world's largest provider for branded VC portfolio support tools. This decision marks a significant milestone in our journey to transform the way investors support their portfolio companies.

Our commitment to providing scalable platforms for over 150 venture capital firms, supporting more than 2,000 portfolio companies, has been unwavering. Today, we are proud to share that our mission will be further strengthened through our partnership with Getro.

Getro, renowned for their expertise in building branded job boards for investment firms, has acquired Sompani in a pure cash deal. Our decision to join forces with Getro aligns with our vision of transforming the VC talent space.

As part of this acquisition, the operations of our platforms are seamlessly integrated into Getro. We have taken great care to ensure the smooth transition of our trusting clients, and supported our dedicated team to find the ideal next step in their careers.

Moving forward, Sompani will merge with Getro, combining our respective strengths to create even more impactful solutions for the VC community. Our expertise and learnings will contribute to the improvement of Getro's job board products, as well as their new offering, GetroConnect.

Already this year, the joint operations of Getro and Sompani have displayed open roles from over 46 thousand VC-financed companies. Their job boards showcase 1.5 million active job listings to 3.4 million job seekers per year.

We are truly thankful for our clients and partners, who made Sompani better with their support and feedback. As part of Getro, we are excited to offer you even stronger introduction tools, enabling venture capitalists to support more companies with an even higher impact.

With this acquisition, our co-founders, Ludwig Ritter and Adrian van Westrenen will not be involved with Getro going forward. They are now separately working on building new businesses, driven by their enthusiasm to make a significant impact on future customers, the environment, and the people they work with.

This marks a new chapter in our story, and we are happy to support Getro’s journey going forward to redefine the landscape of VC support and create meaningful connections in the industry.
