Get yourself a Green Thumb
The Carolina Community Garden invites staff, students, faculty, and local residents to grow vegetables and fruit for UNC’s low-wage workers. The Garden connects UNC students, the community, and UNC’s low-wage workers and develops gardening skills, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Have a passion for gardening or want to learn a new skill? Volunteer for the CCG and participate in activities like planting seeds, harvesting produce, watering and weeding, building structures, amending the soil, turning compost, and so much more.
If you are interested in volunteering, email [email protected] and visit this page to view rules and necessary forms. Note that a limited number of volunteers are allowed to work at the garden due to the pandemic. If dirty clothes aren’t really your thing and you still want to help this great cause, you can donate money, compost, or garden items too.

All produce harvested from the CCG is distributed to UNC housekeepers. These individuals are working hard every day on UNC’s campus to keep our buildings, students, and staff safe during the pandemic. You can help support our hard-working housekeepers by providing them with fresh produce to take home from the garden!
Learn a new skill, meet some new people, practice healthy living, and support a great group of hardworking staff by getting involved with Carolina Community Garden!
