Get what you want Wednesday….Ask for it

Get what you want Wednesday….Ask for it

Today I start a new decade. But it totally snuck up on me.

I never actually celebrated the last one so it has seemed like I’ve been 40 for 20 years. Not lying about my age ever but internally, utterly unaware and unconcerned.

Covid-19 has made me more aware but basically, I plan to ignore my age again.

But with all that is going on, this birthday mattered.

It’s not usually my style to ask for stuff, especially for me. But this time I did. I knew if I didn’t find a way to celebrate this birthday, I would be sad. So I sucked it up and asked. This weekend we had a paint and sip with the little kids and sparkling cider. Today, I’ll spend with friends. Then dinner with another small group tomorrow, and another on Saturday.

Part of it is that it’s too hard in this moment to have one big party so it’s lots of little ones.

But here’s the thing. If I hadn’t asked, I wouldn’t have gotten to celebrate all week.

Here’s what you can do for my birthday – ask for something. Ask for something little every day this week and let me know how it goes. You might be surprised.

And one more thing. Please make a plan to vote and bring a friend with you.

Have a great week,

Julie

Happy birthday! Enjoy all the celebration you receive! Continue to appreciate there is also enormous value in being utterly unaware and unconcerned.
