Get thee to the LPPDE Conference!

The Lean Product and Process Development Exchange conference will be held in San Jose from September 18-20. Notwithstanding the long, awkward title of the conference (LPPDE is better, but not by a lot), it's worth your time to attend.

I keynoted the conference several years ago and had the good fortune to meet amazing thinkers in the world of lean and product development. The thinking and insights you'll hear at the conference are intensely thought-provoking -- and may make you reconsider whether you really do need that 16 month development cycle.

While people have been talking about lean in the manufacturing setting for decades, lean in the product development process is a subject area that is only now coming into its own -- which is important, because the benefits accrue to all parts of the organization. Faster development cycles and innovation means better products in the market sooner, of course, but it also means easier service, greater reliability, and higher profits.
