What exactly is a dApp?

A Decentralized Application (or “dapp”) is an app or service that runs without relying on any one central server or authority. These apps are powered by blockchain technology, which ensures data integrity and security while allowing users complete control over their funds and other resources.

Why you should use Solana as your platform of choice when creating your next dApp?

As mentioned above, the network boasts incredibly fast transaction speeds and extremely low fees – much lower than those found with Ethereum or Bitcoin networks. This makes it ideal for creating high-performance applications that can scale quickly without breaking the bank. Plus, there are plenty of tools available to help simplify development so even inexperienced developers can get up and running quickly.

So now that you know what a dApp is and why using Solana could be beneficial for your project, let’s move on.?

Setting up the environment necessary for developing your own powerful application.

  • Make sure you have all of the prerequisites installed such as Rust compiler version 1.44+, NodeJS 10+ & npm 6+. Once everything has been set up correctly then it’s time to install solc i.e, Solidity Compiler which will be used later when writing code in Solidity language for smart contracts deployment into Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).?
  • After installing solc toolkit now create a project directory where all source files related to our project will reside inside this folder structure along with package management configuration files like package json/yaml etc.
  • For deploying solidity-based smart contracts into EVM, the web3js library must also be installed within our development environment which provides us a JavaScript API interface between the frontend side user interaction layer & backend side Ethereum Blockchain node instance communication protocol layer.?

Finally, after completing these steps, run test cases are written in the Mocha framework against the localhost ganache instance before finally pushing changes toward the main net production environment if required.

There we have it – now you’re ready to start building out your own amazing dApps with ease using Solana! We hope this quick tutorial gave some insight into how easy getting started can really be; dive right in today and see just what kind of innovative projects await.
