Getting a seat at the table isn't a walk in the park.?It can be a daunting task that takes time and a strategic approach to each conversation you have.

In an attempt to find the best tactics for establishing your position and decision making authority, we brought in Kyle Lacy , CMO of Jellyfish , to share his advice.

Here's a sneak peek of 4 tactics you can use to get a seat at the table:

  1. One team, one dream: Bring together marketing and sales into a single GTM team, rather than categorizing them as distinct departments. This allows for better alignment, transparency, and seamless communication.
  2. Create a united strategy: Adopt a unified strategy that everyone within your company is aligned on. Even if the strategy involves various stakeholders and teams, you'll have an established path that everyone can follow and execute on.
  3. Own pipeline: Marketing should always be looking at pipeline as a core KPI. Owning the sales pipeline number helps bring in deals that are truly valuable and have a higher potential of closing compared to generating MQLs – which can be a slippery slope into generating low-quality deals.
  4. Quickly execute: By creating a team structure and leveraging your budget effectively, you can move faster and roll out time sensitive campaigns with limited barriers and bottlenecks. Hiring contractors, particularly in content & web production, is a great way to do this.?
