Get in the ring!!!

Get in the ring!!!

At the International Statistics Institute World Congress, in Kuala Lumpur, the International Association of Official Statistics launched a new discussion platform. The first discussion on this platform asks the question: whether unofficial statistics help to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Global Indicator Framework and how can official statistics play a role in this process?

Dr. Steve MacFeely, Head of Statistics at UNCTAD with Dr. Bojan Nastav, Director-General of the Slovenian Statistics Office explore this question in their paper You say you want a [data] revolution: A proposal to use unofficial statistics for the SDG Global Indicator Framework”. This is the inaugural paper on the new IAOS discussion platform. You can read the paper at:

So, here’s your chance to have your say. Please, read the paper and then post your thoughts on the website:

Come on. Get in the ring!

Thanks ; my dear brother
