Get Out of the Zone

Everybody gets into the I-Don’t-Know zone from time to time. This is when someone experiences something painful and “deals” with it by not looking at it or avoiding it.
Some people may not even be aware they’re doing this. They just have this nameless fear. In fact, a lot of people automatically go into this space. They tell themselves:
“I don’t know.”
“I don’t know how to do it and therefore, I can’t do it.”
And then they make the choice to forget about it.
They’re putting off the discomfort of facing the truth. But it comes at a heavy price.
If you want to make progress in your life, there’s one thing that needs to occur first. You’ve got to take total responsibility for exactly where you are right now. And that means taking a good hard look at what’s going on in your life.
I understand that some people are dealing with horrible things that happened to them in the past. Maybe they got ripped off. Or maybe some things were out of their control and set them back, financially or otherwise. And you’ve probably heard stuff from other people, or read about it on the internet. I know that stuff happens.
But what a lot of people tend to do is blame it on something or someone else. And they wind up never going forward in their lives. At some point in your life, you’ve got to draw a line in the sand. You’ve got to get past the I-Don’t-Know zone and take total, unequivocal responsibility for your life.
Whether your experiences are your fault or not is irrelevant, right?
You need to take complete responsibility for your life, or you’re never going to move forward. And that means getting out of the I-Don’t-Know zone.
