Get out of your office..
We all hear people talking about growing their business, increasing sales and making more money. The question for today is "how often do you hear them say this while they are in the office working on something other than prospecting"?
Prospects are not in your office. They are at business events, wine tastings, Starbucks, charity events... but they are not walking into your mortgage company or real estate office very often. There is a reason car dealers have car lots and builders have model homes, but mortgage originators and realtors don't have that luxury to generate leads.
So unless you are on the phone prospecting from your desk, how are you going to find more clients? The answer is "GET OUT OF THE OFFICE"!
Open houses let you meet people, business events let you meet people, a booth at a trade show lets you meet people. Meeting new people leads to business. That grows your income.

Too many sales people have become dependent on social media and tech to lead generate. Yes it works, and yes I believe it is important to do... but handshakes and live interactions have always worked, still work and will continue to work.
Yes, we all need time to sit at our desk and get work done, but you could sit where prospects sit. Starbucks, the coffee bar at Barnes and Noble, your local coffee shop are filled with homeowners all day. Imagine if you met a few new people there every week. Now that would grow your business.
A friend went to a Chamber of Commerce event recently, met 9 people he had never met, had 5 coffees and gained some possible referral partners... plus picked up a buyer as 1 of the 5 was looking to buy a couple Air BNBs. That never would have happened sitting in the office.
So run your social media, make your cold calls... but get out of the office and meet new people. The prospects are out there but you need to get out there to meet them.
