Get off the bench and in the game in 2023

"The Answer" to transforming your LinkedIn game in 2023

LinkedIn is quickly becoming the basketball court for veterans to play on this year. A platform where veterans only spend about 17 minutes practicing monthly. Wait, only 17 minutes of practice a month? Are we talking about practice? Your LinkedIn profile is your uniform and team of choice, wear them both well.

As we tip off '23 I would like to pull your coat tail and share some free game. For business owners and personal brands looking to establish more REACH this year especially. For veterans getting started here you need "The Answer."

Not a game, but practice? Allen Iverson AKA "The Answer" was truly an NBA Game Changer on and off the court.

Ever since joining the platform's team in 2010, I have keenly watched its growth and followed trends for professionals & veterans alike. It is currently the perfect platform to grow your small business or personal brands too, NOW!

But first, you must decide to stop watching the game from the sidelines and make the decision to get into it. You might feel lost and not even know where to start. With that being said let's focus on your LinkedIn profiles. The foundation of your LinkedIn game.

Here are 3 new moves that matter to improve your LinkedIn game this year

  1. Professional Headshot Move - Your profile picture is your calling card on LinkedIn. Nobody cares about your headshot with your uniform on or your rank for that matter. What does matter is your profile's headshot photo. Selfies are not encouraged. Invest in a good headshot for your profile. Make sure the picture is recent and looks like you. Ensure your face takes up around 60% of it (long-distance shots don’t stand out), wear what you would like to wear to work, and smile with your eyes!
  2. Background Covers Move - Your background photo is the second visual element at the top of your profile page. Why does this matter? Presentation. Imagine yourself as an employer looking to hire their next superstar. More than anything, the right background photo helps your page stand out, engage attention, and stay memorable.
  3. Headliner Move - There’s no rule that says the description at the top of your profile page has to be just a job title. Use the headline field to say a bit more about how you see your role, why you do what you do, and what makes you tick. Watch me on the court like below.
