Get Obsessed with finding an Obsession

There is a lack of purpose today amongst the masses. Millions of people waking up, living everyday of their lives on Auto-Pilot. There is lack of purpose. A lack of drive.

I interact with a-lot of people on any given week, whether it be through business, online, networking events, interviews, partnerships, etc. The one common trait I find amongst people is just an overall lack of energy, which stems from a lack of purpose, which I believe stems from a lack of obsession.

See, when you are obsessed about a positive outcome in your future, a goal, an achievement, an accomplishment, the obsession itself with that future outcome creates ENERGY. Energy that gets you flying out of the bed in the morning, energy that pushes you through all the obstacles, setbacks and difficulties you will face. The constant obsession of that thought will give you the energy to keep pushing towards it.

Anyone who is reading this who is truly obsessed with a future goal or achievement will know what I am talking about. Anyone who is reading this that isn't, needs to get obsessed about finding an obsession.

Some people will try to associate the word and thought of obsession with something bad, that it's unhealthy. Obsession doesn't have to be bad, you can choose and decide what to focus and obsess over.

When people meet me, or our team, something we frequently get complimented on is our "Energy & Enthusiasm" that our team shares. The truth is the reason some of us have this energy, this bleeding enthusiasm , is because we are all obsessed with getting to where we are going. As a start-up, if you're not obsessed with succeeding, then you're already doomed. There will be 5 things working against you for every 1 working for you and if you're not constantly being pulled forward by a thought you're obsessed with, then your destined to fail.

Being obsessed doesn't only apply to success in business. You can choose to get obsessed with reaching ultimate health, obsessed with optimal body condition, obsessed with growing your relationship with your spouse, obsessed with learning something new.

Whatever it may be, you need to find something to be obsessed with that will literally pull you out of bed 15 min before the alarm clock even goes off.

The Obsession will create the constant thoughts and affirmations of that vision, the thoughts will then create a feeling, the feeling will create an emotion that will actually change your state and in that state you will have so much more energy, excitement, enthusiasm in that state that it will be easy to create the ACTION to obtaining that obsession.

The irony is, most people are actually already obsessed with something. They just don't realize it. The problem is, they are obsessed with the wrong things.

Look at the definition below, to be Obsessed is a thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a persons mind. Most people are obsessed with negative thoughts. Everyday, they obsess over things like " I can't do this because _______ " , " As if I have to do this " " Is it the weekend yet ? " " I need more money " " I need to pay that bill " " I'm over weight " " I'll never accomplish that "

So let me finish off by saying this, chances are you are already experiencing some kind of Obsession , in the form of a thought that continually preoccupies your mind, but in most cases this obsession and thought is something negative. Find a positive goal to focus on, and then get obsessed with obtaining that goal, the light will suffocate the darkness and the obsession will give you the energy you've always wanted.
