Get to the Next Level by Finding & Fixing Your Blind Spots
Quick question: Could you be standing in your own way to success?
Many situations and people in your environment could block you from reaching your full potential. However, it could also be something you're unaware of inside you.
Your?blind spot.
Like being an overly chatty person who lacks listening skills.?
Or a perfectionist who spends too much time on details.
Or not knowing how to say 'No.'
For one of my coaching clients, the blind spot was not following up.?
Salespeople must be persistent and confident when reaching out to prospects multiple times. My client hesitated to even ask for the next appointment.?
We spent her coaching session working on her communication tactics and confidence until she could comfortably ask for that next meeting.?

No one is perfect, and everyone has at least one blind spot.?
Even quite literally: everyone has a spot in their eye retina where the optic nerve connects and where we can't see.
So, during these economic headwinds and uncertainty, I suggest we use it to reflect and dig deeper to?find and fix our blind spots.
A quick way to learn about your blind spot is to?ask for feedback.

I challenge you to do it this week by asking your manager and at least three of your other colleagues at work these two questions:
Then listen—really listen.?
Even if it's unsettling and you disagree. Ask for explanations and more details, but resist the urge to justify yourself.
In the end, remember to?express your gratitude.?
Thank the people willing to provide such sensitive information.?
Recognize this ask was more difficult for them than it was for you.
It won't be easy, but trust me, it will be a helpful exercise to get you to the next level.

We must identify any self-imposed barriers and work towards overcoming them and seeking feedback from colleagues or managers can be a valuable tool in this process. Thanks for helping others strive for success and support each other along the way, Cherilynn.
