Leading this new venture is Ashok Gurumurthy , Managing Director, Software Engineering. Ashok has 20+ years of experience in the IT industry, holding a wide range of leadership roles within large organizations, including HP, IBM, NTT, and Infosys. ??

What brought you to Slalom Build??

There are three main reasons why I jumped at the chance to join Slalom Build. First, I fell in love with the people and the culture. Second, I deeply respect how the company is at the forefront of using technology to help build a better future for its customers and communities. Lastly, I was excited to join forces with a driven and talented team that’s set to reshape and grow the market in Detroit in the coming years.

What Slalom core value resonates the most with you???

"Drive connection and teamwork." I met several leaders in person during my interview process and each person demonstrated this value. I was blown away by the way they interacted with each other on a personal level and how welcoming they were towards me.??

What are you most excited about for the future of Slalom Build????

Our company is uniquely well-positioned because the team is driven to master modern software development and experiment with cutting-edge technologies. I’m extremely excited to help unleash the Detroit office’s potential to drive positive business outcomes for our customers.?

What do you envision for Detroit's future in terms of business growth, technological advancements, and job creation over the next decade???

It’s all about technology as an enabler. I foresee a lot of opportunities and jobs created in the region thanks to technology. Detroit has seen strong economic growth in the automotive, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, medical devices, and healthcare industries and technology has been a critical component for success within these sectors.???

What do you love most about Michigan ??

I’m entranced by how beautiful Michigan is. Traverse City and Mackinac Island are captivating places to visit. Mackinac Island is completely car-free, with visitors and residents traveling by foot, bicycle, or horse-drawn carriage. It's quite unique!??
