Willowgrove is home to one of Saskatoon’s most family-friendly and quiet neighbourhoods. Residents are primarily young middle-class income families residing in single-family homes. However, there are a few multi-unit buildings too.
Willowgrove began development in 1998 and is located on the northeastern edge of Saskatoon near Highway 5 and McOrmand Drive. The neighbourhood borders University agriculture grounds, Brighton, Erindale, Arbor Creek, Aspen Ridge, and Evergreen. When people talk about this area, they are usually referring to it as University Heights!

As of 2021, Willowgrove’s total population reached 8686 people, with 48.9% of the population being male and 51.1% female. The neighbourhood has a median age of 35.7; a median age of 34.3 for males and 37 years old for females.?

Neighbourhood “Vibes”
Willowgrove is a very well-kept and maintained neighbourhood. There are tons of walking paths and parks sprinkled throughout, sidewalks for pedestrians, and residents maintain their yards. There is a strong sense of community, being that it is a family-friendly neighbourhood, and you’ll be able to see so many cute pets walking by! Additionally, being that it borders Saskatoon, it is a quiet neighbourhood with minimal traffic.?

Willowgrove School
Located at 805 Stensrud Road, Willowgrove School is the neighbourhood’s primary public elementary school. The school opened in 2015 and is home to over 650 students from kindergarten to eighth grade.?

Holy Family Catholic School
Located at 815 Stensrud Road, Holy Family Catholic school is Willowgrove’s catholic elementary school and is connected to Willowgrove School. Holy Family Catholic School opened in 2015 and runs from kindergarten to eighth grade.

Although there are no high schools located directly in the Willowgrove neighbourhood, there are two high schools located nearby.?

Centennial Collegiate?is located at 160 Nelson Road and is a 4-minute drive, or 23 minute walk, from Willowgrove Square. The school is home to more than 1200 students grade nine to twelve and is known around Saskatoon for its great dance and soccer programs.

St. Joseph High School?is located at 115 Nelson Road and is a 4-minute drive, or 26 minute walk, from Willowgrove Square. The school holds students from grade nine to twelve.

Willowgrove Supermarket is located in the heart of the neighbourhood at 133-412 Willowgrove Square. The supermarket is quick stop shop to pick up one-off items or a snack!
University Heights Square is home to two grocery stores: (1) Co-op Food Store, and (2) Safeway. The district is only a 2–3-minute drive or 15–20-minute walk from Willowgrove Square. Malvina’s Your Independent Grocer is near University Heights and is located at 30 Kenderdine Road and is a 4-minute drive, or 18-minute walk, from Willowgrove Square.
Finally, Save On Foods is located nearby in Brighton and is a 6-minute drive, or 33-minute walk, from Willowgrove Square.

Travel/Traffic
Compared to major cities, traffic in Saskatoon is minimal. However, the University Heights area (i.e., Willowgrove) does experience heavier traffic on Attridge Drive during rush hour and construction seasons.

Willowgrove is primarily a residential neighbourhood with limited amenities. However, surrounding areas, such as Brighton and University Heights, have loads of options for entertainment and things to do!
