? Get to know the people behind Data Minded! ?

Hello everyone, my name is Frederic Vanderveken and I joined Dataminded as a data engineer in January. I began my engineering journey at KULeuven around 10 years ago. In my bachelor, my interest in mathematics and physics drove me toward the master of nanotechnology. Thereafter, I started a PhD in theoretical solid-state physics at imec where I had to transform and analyze tremendous amounts of simulation data. Luckily for me, this data handling was what I enjoyed the most! As a result, I decided to dive deeper into this topic and found my way to Data Minded.

In my free time, I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities with my top three favorites being: an ultimate frisbee match, a spike ball match, and a long and heavy hike. Recently, I also decided to expand my musical knowledge and started to play guitar. Besides these hobbies, following and reading about the latest scientific innovations and technology trends forms another big part of my free time.

My first weeks at Data Minded have been great. It started with several onboarding meetings and technical trainings where the most relevant data engineering tools and frameworks were explained. Besides learning the technical things, I also got to know the people behind Data Minded and its culture. Personally, these intelligent colleagues and the supportive environment are what I appreciate the most about Data Minded. I am happily looking forward to the future! :)?
