Get to know our Content Producer: Q + A with Curry Winters

What inspired you to pursue a career in the live events and production industry?

?I grew up in the theater. My mom has been a theater director, producer and writer my whole life. I have always loved movies, plays and books: storytelling. The hard work that creates magic when you capture people’s hearts and imaginations and speak truth about life is powerful and exciting.?

Even in your short time at Go West, you have made such a difference cross-departmentally; what accomplishment are you most proud of? Teamwork. I left the freelance market because I was looking for a team and I found it at Go West. Being part of a team that is working on process from the ideation of a job until the end takes problem solving, overcoming challenges and creativity. I enjoy the process of seeing how we all play and work together to create what happens on site.?

Now, as a Content Producer, what does your day-to-day look like compared to a Media Manager, and what is your favorite part of it?

?I’m not sure I ever Media Managed without Content Producing, it is hard to separate them in pre-production. As Media Manager I was tracking created assets to make sure everything needed for an event was created. As a Content Producer I’m involved from the ideation of each asset needed and where it is placed in the show. My days are spent focusing on calendars, roles/tasks needed and reviewing content to ensure we meet our creative expectations and the client requests. Producing requires a bigger perspective of the entire show.

Do you have a favorite moment or memory from production while working with the Creative team?

I get so excited seeing media our team created up on screens; sitting in rehearsals with David and Erin and bringing the show to life. Every time the doors open on Day 1 is a favorite moment. I told David recently, “On Day 1 of convention I start getting sad the convention is going to close” He said, “There’s always the next one!” There are so many favorite moments!?
