Get to know Monica Mehra: Senior Director, Capital Markets

We recently sat down with Monica Mehra, Senior Director, Capital Markets to learn more about her role, what excites her most about her work and what she likes best about Affirm!

What are you responsible for in your current role? What’s a typical day like?

I lead our Capital Strategy and Warehouse funding efforts within Capital Markets. Capital Strategy is a new vertical within Capital Markets which looks at how to best optimize Affirm’s funding channels over the next 3+ years.?

I don’t think I have a typical day! Every day is filled with meetings but the topics are always different! It could be looking at our loan performance, meeting a new investor, structuring a new investment vehicle or talking to our investment banking partners.?

What is your favorite part of your job?

I love the innovation. I find my job exciting because we are looking at doing things that haven't been done before. Being on the forefront of innovation, building a business and optimizing our current program keeps me excited and engaged every day.?

What do you value most about working at Affirm?

I value working with my team, cross functional partners, investors and bankers. Working with a smart and motivated group inspires me and keeps me looking forward to each day.?

What’s the best place you've traveled to?

Thailand. I went 20 years ago before many areas were commercialized and loved staying in beautiful places and boutique hotels.
