Sandra: I can easily say that my career chose me. Someone believed in me and gave me the opportunity to start my journey as a human resources?assistant for a manufacturing organization. Initially, I developed a passion for human resources?and returned to college to pursue a degree. Fast forward almost two decades, and I have had the privilege to work in several industries in different capacities. This experience gave me the necessary tools to join Rand Technology and become part of an industry which helps advance the future of technology where opportunities are endless!??

Q: Describe your current role at Rand, and what you especially enjoy. ?

Sandra: I currently serve as the global director, people and culture where I oversee aspects related to the most important asset of our organization, our employees. My role is rewarding because it provides an opportunity to foster a positive environment. I can mentor, motivate and build relationships with employees?and find ways to embrace the company’s professional development and growth. It is always my goal to create initiatives/programs to provide the best employee experience!

Q: As a female leader at Rand, what does it mean to work in the semiconductor, electronic component supply chain industry??

Sandra: As a female leader,?it is an exciting experience to work at Rand.?The semiconductor industry lacks female representation,?so?it is undoubtedly a privilege to be part of an organization with strong, professional female leadership. Rand is a company where we learn from each other and actively motivate younger female generations to become an integral part of this amazing and innovative industry.

Q: What advice would you give aspiring females who want to work in tech??

Sandra: The tech industry is constantly changing and in need of strong leaders.?Don’t be afraid to look for opportunities outside of your comfort zone. I recommend individuals find mentors, embrace new experiences?and?don’t take no for an answer.?Most?importantly,?develop your knowledge, immerse yourself in the field, set goals and do not get discouraged. In the end, joining this industry and becoming a part of its future will yield a rewarding experience.
