Get to Know Gabrielle White: Our 2025 Appointed President

We recently caught up with Gabrielle White the new President of the Irish Exporters Association. Gabrielle is Executive Director, Head of Supply Chain and Logistics with PTC Therapeutics. She has been a member of the National Council since 2020.?

Gabrielle lives with her family in Tinure, Co. Louth, while originally from Clonalvy, Co. Meath.?

Not many people know about PTC Therapeutics, can you tell us about your company??

PTC Therapeutics is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to changing the course of rare diseases.?

I work at our international headquarters in Dublin where our supply chain and logistics team is based. I am very proud to be part of a dynamic team that is having a positive impact on rare disease communities across the globe. This gives our work incredible purpose.?

Every day, we deal in life-changing drugs which help to improve the quality of life for very ill people with rare diseases.??

The delivery and supply of these products is often a very complex matter, we need to plan and map logistics routes from our manufacturing plants to treatment centres & hospitals across the world.?

Gabrielle White, President of the Irish Exporters Association and Executive Director Head of Supply Chain & Logistics PTC Therapeutics.

Can you tell us some more about your role??

I have worked in supply chain for 25 years, with more than 10 years in the rare disease sector. I lead the international supply chain function from our Dublin office, with team members located in Ireland, Brazil and Japan. We supply to patients in more than 50 countries worldwide which includes the supply of our gene therapy product. The expertise and innovation required to ensure supply to our patients is key to our success and unwavering commitment to patients across the globe.??

What are your hopes for the IEA during 2025??

The IEA plays a critical role and makes a significant contribution to the Irish export landscape. As we saw during the recent situation in Holyhead, much of our work happens behind the scene yet it is strategically critical for our members, government stakeholders, and the broader economy.??

No doubt, 2025 will bring some changes to the global trading landscape, and it is critical that as an organisation we remain prominent in voicing the needs of our members and collaborating with all relevant stakeholders.?

I also welcome the formation of a new Government and look forward to working with the Tanaiste, Simon Harris and his new team in Iveagh House.??

Tell us something we would not expect??

I enjoy living close to the east coast, I love to walk along Port beach or over the head of Clogherhead with our dogs.?

It is great for staying active while helping me stay focused and balanced in the very busy world that we live in.?

Lastly, from a professional perspective, I was thrilled to be named a finalist in the 2024 Women In Stem Awards – Female Mentor of the year category. It was an honour to be recognised for supporting and guiding others in the STEM field which motivates me to continue advocating for diversity and inclusion.?
