Elevate, one of five employee resources groups (ERGs) at HealthEquity, champions the empowerment of women in business through connection, education, support, and inspiration. Read on to learn more about how Elevate supports our teammates and how you can find your place within our ERGs.

Empowering women in business

Elevate was formed by teammates who recognized the unique challenges that women in business can face. In response, Elevate fosters an environment that supports the career advancement and personal growth of our teammates.

At its core, Elevate is driven by the mission to empower women to elevate their lives and careers through various means of support including networking opportunities, education, and inspirational speakers. By hosting events and creating space for discussion, Elevate addresses relevant topics that can help our teammates advance their careers and expand their networks.

"As a woman, minority, and second-generation immigrant, Elevate has been a platform for women to feel included," says Nele Ofisa, MBA , Elevate lead. "I joined Elevate to connect with women and I had a deep dive into my own personal journey of what I was looking for in my career."

Elevate's initiative is rooted in the belief that empowering women not only benefits the individuals directly involved but also enriches the entire organizational culture.

Supporting a more equitable workplace and culture

Promoting inclusion and understanding at work ensures that every team member's experiences are not only considered but valued. Elevate helps foster a greater sense of support for women at HealthEquity. The ERG doesn't shy away from important discussions on topics such as pay gaps and the experiences of women in leadership.

"Elevate has helped with uncomfortable conversations about gender pay gaps, breaking the bias, and more," says Nele Ofisa, Elevate lead. "In the world today, it's important to stay connected to others and true to yourself, being part of a connections group and locking arms with other team members can help play a role in finding what you’re looking for.”

By having these open conversations, Elevate contributes to the creation of a more equitable and inclusive workplace for all HealthEquity teammates.
