Get to Know a Chameleon

Get to Know a Chameleon

In this month’s installment of CCG's "Get to Know a Chameleon", we invite you to meet one of our Security Researchers, Zac Taylor,?and how he is blending in while standing out in a challenging, yet fun work environment.

How long have you worked at CCG?

Since January 2021

What were you doing / what kind of company were you working for before coming to CCG??

Odd jobs mostly. This is my first job in the industry.

What made you join CCG??

I had a conversation with a Team Member at CCG who really convinced me it would be a great place to work if I was interested in doing security research, so I applied. He wasn't wrong.

Was there a specific moment when you knew "this is an awesome company and I'm really glad I'm here?" Tell me about that moment.

I was completely stunned when the leadership at CCG allowed me to roll out some of my own ideas for recruiting. Not that they ever gave me a reason to think that they wouldn't, but I was surprised how excited they were to see what I would produce even though it wasn't in my job description.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Very much a night owl.

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

No alt text provided for this image

A human. I've always liked them.

What would be the ultimate scientific discovery?

That's a tough one. My mind immediately goes to something that would help people, like some groundbreaking medicine; but I really think it would be intelligent life on other planets.?

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would it be?

This is such a good question, so I am sorry I don't have a more exciting answer: There's a professor at Oxford named David Deutch who wrote a book that changed my life. He's still living, I believe, so maybe there's a chance.

How would you describe the culture of CCG?

CCG's culture is what really differentiates it from other companies. Everyone is passionate about what we do, and the team really pushes for a culture where we produce outstanding technical results while maintaining a fun and fulfilling environment. That probably sounds like something out of brochure, but it's how I feel about the culture here.

What is keeping you at CCG? What do you like about it?

There are lots of reasons, but the primary reason, I would say, is the people. Since joining, everyone has been so supportive and willing to teach and help me advance technically.?

Why should someone join us?

To restate some of the things I said in previous questions: It's fun, it's challenging, and the people are great.

Anything else you want to say?

Thanks for the questions!

So glad you're part of our team, Zac!
