Frank's Insights:
The real estate market is picking up as we move from spring toward summer, but low inventory continues to tip negotiations in sellers' favor. The move-up homeowner may be hesitant to sell because prices are holding firm, and the increased interest rates make the mortgage cost significantly more expensive. This lack of turnover of homes in the move-up market restricts inventory and supports higher prices.

As a result, when a desirable, well-priced house is listed, it is snapped up quickly with multiple offers. More than ever, a well-connected real estate agent could mean the difference between you finding and landing a sale. Your agent will often know about houses coming up for sale before they hit the market and can help you prepare. A good agent will ensure you craft a competitive bid and avoid missteps that could cost you the deal.
