Get to know Amandha Goriparthi

Meet Amandha Goriparthi. Amandha Goriparthi is a talented product designer working on our solutions and she always goes that extra mile to be proactive, diligent and articulate in her work designs and interactions with people.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Upland?

A: I work as a product designer for the Audience Engagement team at Upland, creating designs that either solve user problems, introduce new features, or simply improve the existing user experience. I get to work with a great design team that I constantly learn from, and seeing our talented developers bring my mockups to life has been a rewarding experience.?

Q: What inspired you to join our team?

A: I jumped into freelancing straight out of college and had a great time working on various apps, websites, and graphic design projects, but realized very quickly that there was only so much I could learn/do by myself. Upland seemed appealing because of its global cross-functional team, and I had a great interview experience which just sealed the deal.

Q: What are some of your key responsibilities in your current role?

A: In my current role, I develop mockups that align with the Upland Design System’s UI, ensuring that they meet product goals while prioritizing ease of use. Given how complex some of Upland’s products can get, I emphasize using common UX patterns to facilitate customers completing tasks in an efficient and streamlined manner while improving user navigation. I also contribute to the maintenance of our design system and participate in design critiques with colleagues when possible.

Q: How has your career progressed since joining Upland? What have been your key learnings?

A: Both professionally and personally, I’ve grown a lot! My technical and presentation skills have gotten better, I’ve been more involved with the design community, and have been given access to resources that constantly help me upskill. Some of my key learnings–

a)??? Talk about your work. What’s obvious to you is not always obvious to others, and explaining why you did what you did is often more important than you think.?

b)??? Make connecting with others a priority. Taking the time to interact with my coworkers has helped keep me grounded and eased burnout as well.

Q: How would you describe the company culture at Upland?

A: I’d describe the company culture as flexible, collaborative and supportive with a focus on innovation and growth. There’s no lack of people to learn from, and community involvement has always been encouraged.

Q: What advice would you give to someone who asks you about joining Upland or who has joined recently?

A: Working remotely gives you great flexibility, but don’t forget about maintaining a work-life balance. Be proactive about setting a schedule (and sticking to it), communicate with your coworkers, and be mindful of your time. For current employees, make the most of what is offered! Ask about courses you’re interested in taking, or workshops/conferences you’d like to attend– the team is extremely supportive and encourages a growth mindset.

A: I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of Upland and appreciate the chance to contribute to such an innovative and dynamic team. The support and resources available here have truly accelerated my growth, and I’m excited to continue evolving alongside my talented colleagues.
