Get involved: Make a Difference on World Water Day!

On Wednesday, the 22nd of March, we’re looking forward to coming together to celebrate World Water Day. This international event marks the importance of sustaining safe and clean water resources for all.

Water is a precious resource and is essential for our health, communities, industry, agriculture, and ecosystems around the globe. Here at Eswatini Housing Board, we would like to honour this essential commodity by acknowledging its use in our lives and exploring ways in which we can contribute towards conserving it, and the best place to start is in our own homes.

Practical Tips for Saving Water

? When turning on the hot water tap, do not let the cold water that comes out first pour down the drain. Instead capture it and store it in a bucket. You can use the water to flush the toilet, water your plants, or clean your car.?

? A large degree of water wastage occurs due to faulty and leaky equipment. If you notice that your water bill is usually high, this could be an indication of a leak. Please make sure to report this to the EHB maintenance department.?

? A dripping tap can waste more than?5,300 litres of water a year, so make sure your taps are properly turned off.

? Refrain from using the toilet as a dustbin.?Every time you flush facial tissue or other small bits of trash, you waste seven to nine litres of water.

? Turn off the water when brushing your teeth – a lot of water is wasted when we keep the tap running. Rather fill up a glass of water to rinse your mouth. ?

If we do something small together, collectively, we can make big changes towards preserving the environment.
