Get Highly Qualified Leads With Strategic Partnerships

Get Highly Qualified Leads With Strategic Partnerships

Let’s talk about the specifics of strategic partnerships and how you can use them to get highly qualified leads for your coaching and speaking business.

Throughout this blog, we’ll address:?

  • Why it’s important to use strategic partnership.?
  • What they are and how they work.?
  • How you can build them.?

?

Every time I do a marketing activity, I’m thinking who are the highest qualified leads that I can get, and where are they? This is where strategic partnerships come in…

?

So, why are they important??

?

Strategic partnerships can give the best leads in a business through trust and targeted conversations that lead to potential clients and partners. They are one of the top ways to help your business grow without you having to do all the work.?

?

These partnerships can reflect what your business stands for, its mission and the audience you are trying to connect with, while also expanding your reach by collaborating with like-minded people and helping each other grow.?

?

What exactly are strategic partnerships, and how do they work?

?

A strategic partner is a business that has the same audience you serve, but they offer a different service. They become a strategic partner when they decide to promote you because your service is complementary to theirs.

?

Say, for example, someone is teaching marketing. A good strategic partnership is partnering up with someone that teaches sales for that particular audience. There is no conflict of interest, but they are complementary and have the same ideal client.?

You find someone or something that offers something different that is complementary to what you offer. That’s where the gold is.?

?

But why does strategic partnership work so well??

?

They work because there is a transference of trust.

?

Trust comes before money. I would even say that trust is the most important currency in business. Before people pay you with their money, they pay you with their trust.

?

Maybe someone doesn’t have money, but can find clients for you, and develop more trusting relationships. That’s why it’s actually more important to build trust with people than get the first sale. Of course, money is important in business, but trust is the first touchpoint that builds the most important foundation.?

?

How do partnerships work in practice?

?

It can be a way to future-proof your business, so that you consistently have new leads that convert and grow your audience. We want stability and clients over and over again. By cross promoting and gaining access to other businesses audiences, your business therefore expands who it’s reaching, which inevitably expands your audience.?

?

This is why you need to spend time thinking about the legitimacy of your partners. Do they know what they’re talking about? Are they going to take care of you if you invest? Does your business align with theirs??

?

A great goal to start at is to develop six strategic partnerships. Six good partners that are promoting you, maybe twice a year. If you have more than six, now you’re building a very stable business.?

?

If you have a strategic partner to promote you, some people will buy straight away, but the majority may not – that’s okay!?The people that don’t buy, are still in your database, or follow you on social media and may buy three to six months on the line or tell others.

?

The goal is to build lasting relationships that consistently lead to new partnerships and sales so that your business always has new leads.?

?

Now let’s get into the logistics of how to build these relationships.?

?Step 1: Finding partners

?

You need to go where they are.

?

There are some groups that are networking groups specifically for partnerships. They’re called the?joint venture directory .?They create a networking environment, but only for people that are interested in partnerships. So everyone that is there wants to find potential partners. You can see my affiliate link below at the end of this blog if you are interested in going to one. I also have found a lot of my partners when I go to events and network with the other speakers.

?

Finding partners online is another option. Maybe there is someone that you follow or someone that you are connected with, that has the same audience, and you can build a relationship with. Remember it takes trust also for them too. They need to trust you before they promote you to their audience. So it’s not a transaction that you’re building with a partnership, it’s a relationship.?

?

I’m always looking at who has my audience and who can be a good partner. Just having the same audience is not enough. You also need to connect with them. If you don’t feel a connection, then you cannot really build a strong, solid relationship. It’s the people that you like spending time with AND have your audience that make big waves and have a wonderful impact on your business.

?

Look for partnerships in a variety of places. You have the structured environments like the joint venture directory networking, but you also have the unstructured environment, like the events that you go to, the masterminds that you’re part of, the group programs, and the memberships. Look around to see who is already in your network.?

?

Partnerships are everywhere, and most of the time the best way to look for them is in places where you are already involved.

?

Step 2: Knowing how you’re going to negotiate.?

?

Reciprocation is a great way to negotiate in partnerships.?

?

First, you need to be prepared to give your partners a commission from any sale.

Think of it this way, instead of paying Facebook, TikTok, or YouTube for advertisement, you’re paying a partner for the sale that happens.

?

Some people will want 50%, some people 30%, some people they will want nothing, but you need to have a budget allocated for a commission to the partner.

?

Now, there are multiple ways to negotiate to find a win solution.

?

When you’re starting out, most of the time it starts with I’ll do something for you, you do something for me. That’s it. Hey, can you do a social media post for me? And I’ll do a social media post for you? Start simple, don’t overcomplicate things.

?

I’ve got a great partnership where instead of paying them a commission, I’m actually doing some work for them for free. They wanted my services. I wanted access to their audience. I said, you know what, you have my services for free. Furthermore, I want X Y and Z in return. And it’s very clear what I’m delivering to them and what they are giving to me.?

?

So everything is very clear from the beginning, which leads me to the last point, which is, everything needs to be in writing.

?

Once you have an agreement with the partner, email them and say hey, this is what we have agreed, this is the percentage, this is the commission, this is what I’m going to do for you, this is what you’re going to do for me. This is the date and when it’s going to happen.?

?

If you start getting into the habit, then you will find new creative ways to get partnerships and find people that are relevant in your network. Remember, it needs to be someone that has the audience that you serve, that offers something complementary that you also love doing, and you like their business model, ethos, and what they stand for.

?

If you have any questions about partnerships, feel free to reach out and connect. Our entire business model is based on partnership, this is what we teach our clients. So if it’s something you want to delve deeper into, we’re here.

?

A great first step with a partner is actually running a webinar together. This is a great conversion tool, and that’s why we have also built the?Webinar Conversion Kit . It’s $30, it will help you build a great high converting webinar presentation without feeling sleazy and over pitching. It creates a great win, win situation and a presentation that leaves people blown away, wanting to buy. And even if they don’t buy, they’re going to have an incredible experience about what you provide.?

?

Once you have your webinar, then you can go to your partners and say, hey, I got this, It’s going to be good for your audience, do you want to work together??

?

This is a great place to get started with creating lasting, beneficial partnerships.
