As a business owner, you are responsible for making sure that your business keeps proper books of account. As well as recording your income and expenditure, there are various other costs that need to be entered in your accounts. Regardless of whether you do your own bookkeeping, or have someone else do it for you, it’s important to check that the journal entries for items such as those listed below are correctly calculated and recorded each month:
·?Wages
·?Accruals (eg accountancy fees)
·?Prepayments (eg insurance)
·?Depreciation
