In Customized Solutions, we have developed four delivery models tailored to address specific client requirements: Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), overseeing the entirety of product life cycles; Projects, executing client projects; Production Center, handling product manufacturing; and Managed Agile Teams (MAT), were we put together teams to efficiently solve tasks together.??
During these upcoming 4 weeks, we are going to spotlight each of Customized Solutions 4 delivery models along with colleagues currently working in each domain. Kicking off the series is the PLM Delivery Organisation.?
So, what is the PLM Delivery Organisation??
The PLM Delivery organization within Customized Solutions is specialised in delivery of Product Lifecycle Management assignments ranging from small, single competence assignments up to highly complex and fully outsourced PLM assignments. Product life cycle management is the management of the complete life cycle of a product and a service. In its full extent, it entails the entire process from initial concept, design and development phase to the production, maintenance, support and end of the life cycle. As a delivery model, there are usually two cases;?
The overall purpose is to alleviate the customer from as much of the product handling as possible. Thereby the customer only needs to focus on steering and follow up. Typically, such assignment, in its full scope, is developed externally for non-core products (or product parts) and thereby the customer can utilize their own personal for more strategic tasks.?
At AFRY, our PLM Delivery organisation has long experience in the domain and vast competence in areas such as project and product management, embedded and PC software, electronics, continuous integration, and FPGA development. The products managed range from simple electronics boards to highly advanced embedded products. ?The products comprise 20-layer PCBs and 4000+ components with tough requirements on signal integrity and processing power, and large FPGAs and System on Chips that push the limits in terms of speed and logic utilization are used to handle large amounts of data processing. The software developed for the product include all from low level drivers for the Linux kernel to PC applications and virtualization using Qemu, Docker, and Kubernetes. ?

To combine cost-efficiency with high demand on quality, the PLM delivery organization has developed a common architecture for some of the products where modularity, reusability, and code structure is in focus for the architecture team. Prior to deployment the product releases run through automated CI/CD-machinery for quality assurance.??

Ny name is Namrata, originally from India and now proudly calling Stockholm home since 2022. With over 15 years of experience in the telecom industry, I've navigated various roles in Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery - from testing core network technologies to serving as a technical leader. Beyond my professional endeavors, I thrive in social settings where fostering a supportive environment and transparency is key. What are you doing in your role at PLM Delivery Organisation?
In started my AFRY journey in 2022 as a Senior CICM Engineer within the PLM Delivery Organization. By December of the same year, I transitioned to a project manager role, where I was responsible for the critical 'Move of code' Project, essential for the PLM Delivery Organization's objectives. As part of my duties, I collaborate closely with one of our clients in telecommunications, ensuring alignment with security standards and network topology requirements. ? ?
What is the best thing about your job??
The most rewarding aspect of my role lies in the collaborative efforts required across various sites, collectively managing all projects within the PLM Delivery Organization while closely aligning with our customer’s needs. I also enjoy proactively addressing challenges and anticipating potential obstacles. Moreover, what I really like about AFRY is the freedom of expression, the embrace of diverse perspectives and the opportunity to explore a multitude of diverse technological domains. I have developed a lot both personally and professionally here at AFRY and I really look forward to what the future holds within the company!?
