What would you do if a mysterious locked box landed on your desk?

Osram, a light bulb company, had a challenge.

Maintenance managers wanted cheaper bulbs, while finance directors cared about cost savings.

Osram sent finance directors a locked cashbox with a note: “This holds the secret to saving your company ￡50,000. The key is with your maintenance manager.”

The managers received keys and a matching note. Driven by curiosity, they met, opened the box, and discovered the cost-saving benefits of Osram’s long-life bulbs.

Sales skyrocketed!
