Get better with change, not by chance.
About a year ago I set out on a new adventure. I joined Cardinal Health. As a resident of Dublin, Cardinal Health was no stranger. It greeted me several times a week as I went about my errands. Every third person I met was associated with it (impossible said the mathematician, highly improbable said the statistician). But a pandemic was upon us, the world was locking itself in, I was with an amazing company, why rock the boat? And yet the fears were also the key motivators. What better place to fight the good fight than the heart of the healthcare supply chain?
But, what about the people? I was among buddies, with bonds that had strengthened through shared challenges over many years. Would be a while before that happened, right? Wrong. Probably the luck of the Irish. What a talented bunch I have landed with! It’s not just technical chops, which goes with the territory. There is a passion for diversity and inclusion, a commitment to drive change, and a leader that challenges the status quo every day (Snehal, can we make it every other day? Asking for a friend). Now, I have only met a handful of them in person, so they could be figment of my imagination or bots created by automation wizards on Chirag's team. Time will tell.
The augIntel team is leveraging data and technology to drive innovation across the organization. If I had to describe the working culture of the team, the transformation traits proven by Yamada come to mind -
- The Power of One- surprising things can happen, even culture change, when leaders like Jennifer, David, Prasad and Jasmeet skillfully bring a voice and a vision.
- The power of sequential skill building– Cardinal Health has institutionalized this mindset at scale through Digital Fluency, Digital Immersion, and Digital Colleges.
- The power of sustained focus and determination- Take the first step, don’t be afraid of failure, keep moving.
- The power of using privilege to support people with less privilege.
And to think we are just getting started.
The biggest takeaway for me has been - train your “courage for challenging convention” muscle consistently, so that it’s ready when needed.

3 年Beautifully written Anagha!
Beautiful sense of creativity, thru the writing here to reflect career risk taking. So many of us are ‘stuck’ in this mindset of starting from scratch as it relates to relationship building. While I agree 100% you stepped into an awesome company & team, I do believe you’ve understated the effort on your part to jump in and penetrate. Given the pandemic hit year we had, you could have easily stood by on sidelines and watched it play out. Instead you accelerated your drive, and put your hand up to lead some big initiatives like our first ever enterprise Hackathon. Congratulations on the anniversary!
