Get back up!
I received another rejection notice the other day. I had to remind myself that I am good enough, but for whatever reason this company didn’t see in me that which I see in myself and what many others in my past jobs have witnessed. Or maybe there was someone else who just shined better than I did. Or maybe they didn’t want to pay for my experience level. Or maybe someone didn’t like what I said. Or maybe they thought I was too good. Or maybe I am not as good as I think I am. Or, or, or, or….. The list goes on; or it can if you keep going.
I may never know why I did not get a particular job or what I could have done differently, but regardless I have to get back up and move on to the next.?
“It doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down. All that matters is you get up one more time than you were knocked down.”?
So here I go again, picking myself up, dusting off the tire marks and drying away the tears. I’m a little devastated but I will be ok. “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and gosh darn it people like me”.
So to the one who did get the job, I’ll say this… CONGRATS!?
Take the position and run like the wind.
To the hiring team I’ll say this… you know where to find me if you change your minds.
I’m always available… until I’m not.
To all the others out there desperately looking for work as I am, trying to sort through the real job and the scams, applying to countless job postings hoping you didn’t just give your personal information to a scam artist of some kind, and trying to keep that smile to your lip and cheer in your eye for that next interview. Keep going; get up and keep going. We have never in my lifetime had it so hard to find a job, but as my grandfather said about many things “this too shall pass”.?
So just in case you don’t know who I am yet…
I’m just Ken
I’m looking for work as many of us out here are.
My resume is below and I’d appreciate it if you could share it with anyone and everyone. Eventually someone will find me and give me a chance to prove myself once again.
