Get Away For Perspective

Minus the distractions of our normal day to day, Colorado gave me and my former teammate/roommate an opportunity to step away to learn more about each other and catch up on life. We've spent plenty of time together over the years, but since not being on a team anymore we've failed to create space to truly connect. I’m learning more and more that ???????? ?????? express how they feel and more importantly they boldly face the issues of their past and present.
Following our time together I had the following reflections to share that I know will benefit someone else.....
????? ???????????? ???? ???? ?? ???????????? ????. However we define the relationship (friendship, familial, romantic or work), me investing in myself and learning more about myself should be #1 and ultimately benefits others.???
??????? ???????? ?????? ??????????????????????. Life doesn’t STOP when we get away, but stepping away can allow us to pause for perspective. It doesn’t have to be a vacation, but create some space/time to disrupt your normal routines to gain a broader perspective on your life. ???
??????????? ???????? ?????? ????????????. Life is busy and there are jobs/tasks that we have to do to survive. However, we have to get back to making time for the people that matter most to us.???
??????????? ???????? ????????. Life isn’t meant to be lived alone. We need each other.???
??????????? ???????? ???? ???????? ??????????????????. You aren’t the first, nor the last to go through what you’re going through. Your ability to be vulnerable about that will help you and may help someone else going through similar challenges.???
????????????????? ????????????????. Expecting people to know how you feel is foolish and unfair. We’ve got to find comfort in sharing the good and the bad with each other so that people have full understanding.???
????????????????? ??????????????. Your childhood experiences and upbringing play a huge part in who you are now and how you respond to different life situations. Go back and unpack the baggage!???
???????????. Telling people you love them is important, but showing people you love them is most important. I have to do better in showing love through how I spend my time, money, and focus my attention/intentions.???
From my time as an athlete and now working professional, I’m often challenged with viewing situations as winner/loser... instead I’m challenging myself and others to view life as a series of lessons that we are ?????????????? and ????????????????!
