Welcome to the four-part series on how to succeed on LinkedIn in 2023!
I will be breaking this down into a four-step process, called the four P’s.
This week, I’ll be discussing the first of the four P's: your PROFILE.
Your LinkedIn profile is essentially your personal website, and it's important to make sure it stands out above your competition.
So, how do you do that? First, make sure your profile picture is updated and an accurate representation of you. You don't want to surprise someone on a Zoom call with a totally different appearance than they were expecting from your profile picture.
Next, think of your banner as your electronic billboard. A good banner should have your company's logo, some imagery that represents where you're based, and most importantly, your contact information. This is especially important on the mobile version of LinkedIn, where contact information can be harder to find.
The headline below your name is another key part of your profile. Instead of just listing your job title and company, use this space to give us your tagline and let us know what you do and who you do it for.
Finally, don't forget to add a bio section to your profile. This is your chance to let us get to know you on a personal level. Share a little bit about your background, your interests outside of work, and what makes you unique.
By focusing on these four areas of your LinkedIn profile, you'll be well on your way to standing out from the competition and finding success on the platform. Stay tuned for the next P in the series, where we'll delve into the second P: POSTING.
