Germany wears pink

My Dear Friend of Democracy,

As you might know, I am from Germany.

As you might not know, I am a huge soccer fan. Well, actually, I was.? ?

My love for the German men's national football team has cooled in recent years. But things are changing. The team is playing pretty well at the current European Championship that is taking place in my country. Plus, they sometimes wear pink jerseys, which stands for diversity (due to high demand, the jersey is currently sold out). It seems this colour is more than just lip service. One indication is the names of the German goalscorers so far: Emre Can, Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, Ilkay Gündogan and Niklas Füllkrug.

This team is a best practice that shows that one country’s basis for success lies in immigration, diversity, and cohesion.

I think that an old love is returning. ??
