In Germany, the Roncalli circus replaces its animals with holograms

To put an end to accusations of animal abuse, the Roncalli circus has decided to replace animals with holograms. Technology and creativity at the service of more humanity!

Today, more and more people are turning their backs on the circus because of the exploitation of wild animals. While acts featuring animals are generally spectacular, it should not be forgotten that they are very often raised (and tamed) in difficult and often inhuman conditions. As a result, more and more circuses are banning the exploitation of wild animals, a historical practice in the area.

And a circus has found an unusual alternative that seems to be having an effect. In Germany, the Roncalli circus had the idea of replacing its animals with holograms. A real mantra for this institution that gradually banned the use of wild animals in its shows in the 1990s, long before others began to take similar measures. But just recently, the Roncalli circus made the decision to use technology with holograms.

High-flying trapeze artists and zany clowns now share the stage with a whole series of holographic animals. On the central track, the "virtual" animals march one after the other, under the amazed gaze of the audience who discover a new way of approaching this kind of show.

A relevant and necessary idea to restore the image of this industry, which is widely criticized for the exploitation of animals. An initiative that also shows the power of technology, which allows us to keep a touch of magic to the show while promoting animal welfare.

Who knows, in the near future, our children may be surprised to know that in the past, wild animals were forced to perform acrobatics... for real.

We can only hope this will be seen as economically feasible. After all, money (which is an ultimately meaningless value system) runs the world. “Two things are Infinite: the Universe and human stupidity...and I’m not sure about the Universe.”—Albert Einstein
