Germany is NOT ready for women going to IPO !?

Special edition for #IWD2021. Opinion.
I am fortunate to be surrounded by strong women in my life. From my sisters, my mom, my mom-in-law, back then my commander in the IL army, from women investors and women I was growing into business with and probably made me who I am today. From Israel, New York, California, China, and Europe. My experience from these countries allows me to love my home and still willing to change what is still broken.
With this attitude, I saw many women, from all over the world, building their startups for the last 20 years into a level that gender doesn't have a role anymore. It's is all about performance and execution. No place to be weak, act weak, or play weak for attention. when you know that only the strong survive you become one of them, knowing how to play the tight game.
Stop Talking. Start doing! Since I'm living in Germany, I had the opportunity to build a company that based on #GivingBack, based on performance and uniqueness, something that no one can copy because it's what we bring in as a global founder and focus on impact and great execution and not only the talking.
In Israel, same as in New York and the valley, you're being judged very fast by performance and numbers. This as a fact bringsa lot of focus into the game. No waiting time on NON-growth activities and no NO-MISSION-oriented management, Even when your sources are super limited, you learn to perform at the highest level.
This pressure and must GROWTH in any condition brings to the market the mindset of GO BIG OR GO HOME.
We call it surviving until you strive, bloom and you grow. Running a business is not a nice-to-have-thing. It's being all in!
On one hand, no one ever asked me how I'm raising my 2 small kids when I've built my first company (Thanks to my great support from my family and my husband's family) but on the other hand, no one judged me different than any other MALE CEO's performance. It was an equal game when it comes to performance.
Since I live in Germany, I needed to learn to adapt, adapt to the local business culture,, and to the fact that WOMEN are not feeling equal in business and in the workforce. Of course, it's not only in happening Germany BUT the situation/ reality here to see unicorns/ big business/ international growth MADE BY WOMEN is even rarer than US/ IL / UK.
* Is it in the #culture?
* Is it the #women?
* Is it the school system?
* Is it the whole system?
* Is it the idea of still choosing between motherhood and a career? ( Nooooo!)
I heard it all! the fact is that the numbers are bad! really bad! still very bad!
Do I have a point here? Hell YES!
Can you imagine IPO made by a women CEO in Germany? Can you imagine a unicorn raised by a women CEO in Germany?
Its starts with believing!
It ended with the support!
Women supporting women. Men supporting women. Everyone supports the mission and the success!
It's not only an individual success! It is the success of the younger generation and the others that will follow.
What you recently saw in Israel, ( last week ) , Female CEO (and a co-founder) became a unicorn (Eynay, PapayaGlobal) or the New York IPO ( Whitney, Bumble ).
All of these are not coming out-of-nowhere, they are all raised and built by the system.
* A system that makes them heroes ( not fake heroes)
* A system that starts from schools and high- schools. Entrepreneurship is a mindset and way of living.
* A system that starts from the neighborhood and the parents in the class. We are all raising superstars in potential.
?An ecosystem of impact on another circle and another circle Women understand and feel it is possible?
When she is building her first company, are we supporting her with access to capital? access to skills? access to role models?
Are we sure we are there in Germany? Is this the mindset here?
This is WHY I've built WLOUNGE.de and thank god we are changing people's lives every day ONLY because I wish I had that when I started I wish I can GIVE it to all overachievers women who dream big and will achieve it. This is why we've built WLOUNGE Dare Leadership program. Fulfilling their dreams, fulfilling mine at the same time with seeing more success stories made by women made in Germany and Europe.
2021. International women's day. We are still talking quota, empowerment, encouragement for entrepreneurship. Let's make all these a mindset! a culture!
IT'S OK TO CELEBRATE SUCCESS and not to hide it.
WOMEN should talk more about success to bring others around the table.
Every woman and man in a powerful position should see it as a responsibility, This is the only way to raise an ecosystem, to raise success in a global competition level for us, for our next generation.
At WLOUNGE I'm pushing to talk about success. small successful steps, big successful steps . We cheer at each other, we celebrate success.
