Georgia Tech professor's personal email id used for phishing scam. Please share with other professors.

I just emailed this to security at Georgia Tech [email protected] regarding a phishing scam from my professor's personal email id:

Hi,

I'm forwarding below an email which came few days ago from my professor Dr. NAME's personal id. I graduated from Tech a decade ago. I traced the email and the source IP address is 41.138.168.171 and the country is Nigeria.

Please share with him asap. I'm cc'ing him on his Tech id. This is me if required https://in.linkedin.com/in/saranshakti

I'm sharing with you because other professors might also be getting targeted.  

Please share with me asap after you share this with Dr. NAME.

Also some hours before seeing my professor's email, I had shared this online:

HDFC sent me an SMS about not having to use cheques or something like that after I SMS'd a friend that he doesn't have to return the money now since I'm not moving now. My friend has given me a post dated cheque :) This reminds me of a fraud call that another friend had received about someone pretending to be from her bank and she had told me about it recently.

Around an hour after sharing the above and after doing some security work, I went to my cousin's place and he said that the Person of Interest show might be coming now. I told him not to watch it now because they would be showing a much newer episode whereas I'm still watching season 1. It was Season 4 Episode 21. A bank is mentioned in the episode (and HDFC is a bank) and towards the end of the episode, it's mentioned that there's no surveillance on a top floor and where major things happen in the episode and that yesterday someone had asked me about surveillance equipment and then I had shared that my company Umbra Security www.umbrasecurity.com will be growing into it by working with manufacturers and learning about how the different equipment work and can benefit businesses and organizations.
